Is Google EATing Into Your Search Results?

In its on going quest to improve search results, Google is constantly updating and altering its search algorithm. They are also defining new standards to evaluate websites on a whole as opposed to pages.
E-A-T is one such standard introduced last year and provides good insight into how Google evaluates your online presence
E-A-T stands for Expertise, Authority and Trustworthiness. Based on various performance indicators, Google will establish an EAT quotient for your website when ranking on their search index.
Expertise has been qualified as Formal expertise and Everyday expertise. e.g. Doctor recommending medicines for common cold is formal expertise while your mom using household remedies to cure the same common cold is everyday expertise.
Google can now map search context with expertise level/category and show results accordingly as explain by Amod in example shown in the video.
E = Know it All (be a master at your art)
A = Been there, done that (have relevant and long experience in your field)
T = Strong reputation
This is one EAT no will discourage eating from. The more you EAT, the better for your online health.

Content Marketing Strategy 2015 And Beyond...
2015 is the year of "mobile". Everything online will be mobile first now. Gearing up for the mobile revolution in online and content marketing is the way to move forward. http://www.zoomyourtraffic.com
RESPONSIVE is the keyword.
Is your website responsive? If not, you may lose out as much as 50% of your website traffic and business to others (because experience on mobile is most critical for mobile users. If they find navigating your old desktop site tacky, they might just switch over. Most importantly mobile users are decision makers. They buy, enquire, interact. Hence all the more reason why you should go responsive with your online business!
Make sure your website keeps growing all the time with information, updates, help features, etc. This will enable your website to grow organically and achieve higher rankings and visibility. However, content is king here. You need to be able to deliver value to your reader.
Use Social Media aggressively (in conformance to various guidelines setout by them) including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, G+ and many more as applicable to your business. All platforms have their strengths and they need to be leveraged to the fullest for business and branding.
Visual Media is becoming huge! Video and Image based platforms will rule the roost. Youtube is already the number 2 search engine behind Google emphasizing people's connect and engagement with video content. Use platforms like Pinterest, Flickr, Instagram, Slideshare to share your visual content. Calls to action click through rates are very high with visual content as compared to text and will continue to increase.
Incoporate ePress in your marketing fold through newsletters, press releases, article sharing, blogs, forums to reach your audience and improve search presence.
Offline media including print, seminars, workshops should also be technology enabled to leverage benefits for your online business.
To summarize, your action plan should be:
- Go responsive with your online business today
- Build your web and online presence with valuable content in focus
- Track and monitor all media to leverage full potential for your biz
- Keep inventing, innovating and interacting based on changing marketplace needs. This is a rapid changing world. Technology is disruptive. Need to be on our toes all the time.
